AEW star Clark Connors has praised the company’s roster and production staff for their professionalism, highlighting their ability to deliver quality television despite sometimes having to adapt to last-minute changes.
During a recent appearance on Tony Schiavone’s podcast, Connors discussed the working environment in AEW and expressed his admiration for the talent and personnel involved in putting together the company’s shows.
Connors described AEW’s roster as the most talented and professional in the wrestling industry, particularly when it comes to handling unexpected adjustments. “I think that’s what I think this whole roster, especially, is the most talented, most professional roster in the world, in my opinion, because the sh*t that people can pull off on short notice is amazing.”
He emphasized that his praise extended beyond the wrestlers themselves, pointing to the production team and commentary staff for their ability to work together under demanding circumstances. “Really, it’s such a fun place to work, man, where it’s just like—and I’m not talking about just the talent. I’m talking about the production people. I’m talking about you guys at the desk, and you’re just throwing shit together, and it comes off damn near flawlessly. It’s cool as hell to work there, man.”
Schiavone agreed with Connors’ assessment, acknowledging that the commentary team sometimes learns about developments shortly before they happen. “A lot of times, we find out things, you know, just like you guys do, kind of at the last minute, and you just go with it.”
The veteran AEW commentator suggested that the company’s ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances has played an important role in its success. “I think—and I’m sincere about this—I really think that’s one of the reasons for our success, because we have a lot of people who can work on the fly and a lot of people who can pull together a great show with sometimes not that much prep.”
Schiavone also expressed pride in the team’s ability to deliver under those conditions before ending his comments with a lighthearted jab at the wrestlers. “I’m proud of that. I really am. I’m proud that I can make you bunch of jackasses sound like athletes with not that much.”
The exchange offered an insight into how AEW talent and staff approach the demands of live wrestling television, with both Connors and Schiavone emphasizing the importance of teamwork, flexibility, and professionalism when plans change on short notice.
