As PWMania.com previously reported, Ricochet has told the WWE that he plans to leave the company when his contract expires later this summer.
Fightful Select reports that there is a distinct possibility that Ricochet will end up in AEW in case he does decide to leave WWE and the company is already starting creative measures to write him out of TV by having him drop the WWE Speed Championship to Andrade. There have also been creative pitches on how to write Ricochet off television, such as having him taken out by Bron Breakker on RAW.
The report also highlights the legal limitations AEW faces in discussing a potential contract with Ricochet. While there is speculation among AEW talent and staff about his potential arrival, they are currently unable to engage in any official contract talks as Ricochet remains under contract with WWE.
Ricochet also has other promotions vying for his services once he becomes a free agent like NJPW.
