Colby Corino On Whether He Would Take A Prescription Drug Again Due To His Past Troubles

National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Junior Heavyweight Champion Colby Corino was interviewed by WU Online. He talked about his time with Ring of Honor (ROH), his past trouble with drugs, his opponent at NWA Samhain on October 28, 2023 against “Mr. NWA” Joe Alonzo for the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship and more.

Here are the highlights:

When he knew he wanted to be a wrestler:

“I went to my first ECW show when I was three weeks old. I’ve always been around wrestling my whole life. Maybe in the back of my head I knew maybe one day I would be a wrestler but it wasn’t until I was like 12 and went to a Ring of Honor HDNet taping, back when they were doing that, and it was my Dad’s first shows back at Ring of Honor. I remember watching a match…it was Davey Richards in the ring, and I was watching him wrestle, and I was like – THIS…THIS is what I want to do! I want to wrestle like this dude!”

Whether he would take a prescription drug again due to his past troubles:

“It’s kinda like a case by case basis. Like if I got my wisdom tooth taken out…no, I don’t need that…I can make due with ibuprofen and Tylenol. I think they work wonders. But if I’m in the hospital and my arm snaps, and I’m unconscious and they need to give me Morphine to work on me, I don’t think I’m going to pass that up. If a doctor is going to directly give it to me, I think I’d be okay with it, but I don’t want to be in control of having any pills or anything. I don’t want to leave that up to chance.”

If he stands by his original reply to Joe Alonzo’s parody video:

“100%! I feel like if you’re not creative enough to stand in the bounds of pro-wrestling it’s because you lack something. He (Joe Alonzo) can’t excite people with what he does in the ring so he has to go on Twitter or go on Instagram and make these videos…he did the same thing with Homicide. So I don’t know why anyone’s surprised. This is what this kid does. He’s a troll. He can’t cut it in the ring.”
