On Monday morning, it was revealed that the upcoming NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 event will feature the debut of a new championship.

The event will feature a three-way match between Jon Moxley, Will Ospreay, and David Finlay, with the winner determining the inaugural IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion. The title will replace the now-defunct IWGP United States/United Kingdom Heavyweight Championship, which was eliminated after Power Struggle when Finlay destroyed Ospreay’s title belts.
