Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Shota Umino (4) vs. Chase Owens (4)

Chase Owens tried to catch Shota Umino with a dropkick to the floor before the bell but to no avail as Umino is able to remove his entrance gear then Owens crawls under the ring but he gets pull back out before he took Umino into the guard rails then drops him with a Death Valley Driver on the rebound.

Umino beats the count but Owens stays ahead with uppercuts while a chinlock slows the pace down some more before he breaks free from the chin locks before landing a fisherman suplex for a near fall only for Owens to come back with a clothesline and a knee strike for a two count of his own.

Umino hits a dropkick to knock Owens down, while the Trident almost gets the victory then Umino tries to connect with Ignition but Owens side steps it twice and hits a German suplex.

Strikes from Owens just rile up Umino but a Jewel Heist almost puts Umino away while a C Trigger looks to lead to a Package Piledriver but Umino counters with a cradle that see saws before another Package Piledriver is flip out of and into a Death Rider for the win.

Champion vs. Champion Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
IWGP Tag Team Champion Yoshi Hashi (4) vs. KOPW 2023 Champion Taichi (4)

Taichi went for a Dangerous Backdrop Driver at the bell but Yoshi Hashi stops it as they instead traded kicks and elbows then it breaks down into chops there with Yoshi Hashi pulling ahead at least until Taichi boots him into the corner.

A hook kick from Taichi drops Yoshi Hashi before he locks an abdominal stretch before Yoshi Hashi escapes & hits Head Hunter before he caught Taichi in the corner with a chop then sets up for the dropkick to Taichi in the ropes.

Elbows to the neck keep Taichi on the back foot, but a gamengiri catches Yoshi Hashi in the corner as Taichi turned things around in a heartbeat then a half & half suplex gave Yoshi Hashi a opening as they trade lariats.

Taichi crumbles first though only to bounce back with a Dangerous Backdrop Driver before an Axe Bomber follows before Yoshi Hashi hits a Destroyer to counter the Black Mephisto & that leads to a Western Lariat for a near fall.

Kumagoroshi follows but it’s still not enough to put away Taichi & he slips out of Karma and sneaks in a Taichi Style Gedo Clutch for a near fall.

Yoshi Hashi gets caught with an enziguiri after the kick out before chops to the neck from Taichi earns him a slap then a backbreaker from Yoshi Hashi connects but a Crucifix Bomb attempt gets counters into Black Mephisto before another a superkick then a another Black Mephisto gets Taichi the win.

Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Strong Openweight Tag Team Champion Gabriel Kidd (4) vs. Kaito Kiyomiya (5)

Gabriel Kidd attacks Kaito Kiyomiya as he was barely out of the curtain & that leads to them brawling around the crowd but Kidd clears the crowd as he prepared to dive into Kiyomiya only for Kidd to end up hitting a running cannonball into the 3rd row. They head towards ringside & Kidd grabs a chair from under the ring and smacks it over Kiyomiya’s head.

Kidd finally takes it inside, where the bell goes as he gets a two count on Kiyomiya before stomps kept Kiyomiya by the ropes then Kiyomiya begins to fight back only to get punched out and thrown with a Saito suplex then goes for the cover Kidd pulls up Kiyomiya at two then sends Kiyomiya to the outside.

Kiyomiya makes it back inside though by catching Kidd with a springboard forearm out of the corner ahead of a bridging German suplex for a near fall. Kidd grabs the referee to avoid a Tiger Suplex and snuck in a low blow in the process before he began to lay into Kiyomiya with palm strikes in the corner.

Knee strikes force the referee to separate them before Kiyomiya double legs Kidd out of the corner and began a fightback then Kidd gets choked by the railings then gets whips into the bars as the pair spilled back into the crowd to continue the fight.

The ref heads back to the ring to start the 20 count but the fight continues with Kiyomiya opting to take things further away from the ring & they get counted out.

Winner: No One (Double Count Out) (11:44) (Both men get a point)

Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Tanga Loa (2) vs. Great O Khan (2)

Loser is mathematically eliminated.

Great O Khan is able to trap Tanga Loa in a knee bar & that forces Loa into the ropes as O Khan wrenched on the hold some more then on the outside Tanga Loa has his knee wrap around a chair before another leg lock from O Khan led to him tying up the legs as he again forced Loa into the ropes then a knee breaker follows but Loa tries a roll up only for O Khan to go back to the knee.

Loa returns with a hiptoss but a front kick puts him back down for a two count then Loa shrugs off Mongolian Chops and took O Khan into the corner with a variety of strikes before a German suplex takes O Khan out of the corner but O Khan’s claw assisted sleeper suplex connects as did a belly 2 belly.

Loa is right back up as they’re popping up from suplexes before he caught O Khan with a short spear for a one count. O Khan kicks at the knee again then grabs a face claw but couldn’t get Loa up for an Eliminator so Loa nails Apeshit to get the win.

Winner: Tanga Loa (4) (12:41) (Since O Khan lost he is mathematically eliminated)

Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Hikuleo (2) vs. Yota Tsuji (3)

Hikuleo must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Hikuleo takes Yota Tsuji into the corner early on before Tsuji’s attempt at a satellite DDT was blocked then he is quickly knocked down with a back elbow before Tsuji with elbows to the midsection but an attempted low bridge to take Hikuleo outside is stop as he knocks Tsuji down.

Tsuji gets back in with a clothesline to take Hikuleo outside but a follow up tope is caught but Tsuji is able to take Hikuleo into the ring post anyways before a flying rana off the apron sends Hikuleo into the barriers.

Back inside the ring Hikuleo kicks out before one from a simple cover so Tsuji takes him into the corner for the push down stomp. Tsuji keeps going but Hikuleo fires back with chops before a Snake Eyes and a running clothesline had Tsuji down.

A reversed suplex puts Tsuji ahead again at least until he gets caught with a snap powerslam. Tsuji’s knee strike deals with another snap powerslam attempt but another strike exchange led to Hikuleo going for Godsend but it’s counter with a roll up as Tsuji came back with a headbutt and a Falcon Arrow to do the deal for a near fall.

Tsuji connects with a Curb Stomp followed then set up for the spear but it was kick away so Hikuleo goes for Godsend from there but Tsuji flips out only to run into the powerslam before Hikuleo drills Tsuji to the mat with Godsend for the win.

Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Kenta (4) vs. El Phantasmo (2)

ELP must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Kenta is delaying to get the match started until El Phantasmo leaps off the top rope onto him then we get some brawling through the crowd leading to ELP moonsaulting off the seating decks onto Kenta before they head up into the crowd as they are fighting on the benches as ELP’s CRII was counter with a back body drop.

That’s followed up with a DDT onto the bench before they continued to brawl around the room. ELP throws Kenta into the wall before he scaled a lighting rig then Kenta pulls him down and hits a 2nd DDT onto the floor as Kenta heads to the back and returns with a kendo stick.

ELP takes many shots as Kenta wore out the stick then Phantasmo snatches the stick from Kenta’s hands and begins to return the favour by cracking Kenta over the head with it before they traded blows.

Kenta snuck ahead though at least until he gets hit with Sudden Death as ELP then clears the timekeeper’s table and put Kenta onto it for a CRII only to be stop with a low blow and a 3rd DDT on the table.

They head into the ring as the referee rings the bell & Kenta hits a hesitation dropkick crashes into ELP only for a Go 2 Sleep to be counter into a cradle as Phantasmo gets the victory.

Non Title Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Sanada (8) vs. Ren Narita (2)

Narita must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

If Sanada win & Owens or Kidd loss or draw will guarantee progression.

Match starts off with Ren Narita & Sanada do some grappling as Narita & Sanada traded standing switches before Sanada was forced to push out of a side headlock only to get booted down as Narita came off the ropes then heading outside Sanada gets hurled into the railings but then returned the favour only for Narita to boot him on the rebound.

Back inside the ring Narita hits a running neckbreaker then ties up Sanada in a death lock until Sanada was able to drag himself into the ropes before Sanada found a way back in by taking Narita outside with a dropkick then follows it up with a plancha before a spinning heel kick inside the ring connects.

Sanada is taken from a rear naked choke and into a Cobra Twist before Narita rolls him down into a knee bar that saw Sanada get drag away from the ropes before Narita Special #3 is teased but Sanada rolls free and took Narita into the ropes for a magic screw before he adds in a springboard dropkick after he’s wrong footed Narita in the corner.

Sanada with a TKO before a missed moonsault leading to Sanada jarring his knees as Narita then found his way back with the Narita Special #3. Eventually the ropes save Sanada then he taken back down with an elbow from Narita before he responded to an enziguiri by charging back with a Shining Wizard.

Narita countered a Dead Fall attempt with a Cobra Twist then Narita switches it into a bridging German suplex for a near fall then Sanada lands on Narita’s knees from a moonsault as he almost fell to a grounded Cobra Twist before a Skull End drags Narita down to the mat.

Narita escapes that, then went back to the rear naked choke only to lose a battle of enziguiri then an overhand palm strike left Sanada rocked but he is able to counter the Kanuki suplex into Deadfall puts Narita away.

Winner: IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Sanada (10) (16:30) (Since Narita lost he is mathematically eliminated & Sanada gets a spot in the Quarter Finals)

Champion vs. Champion Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Kazuchika Okada (8) vs. United States Champion Will Ospreay (6)

If Okada wins it guarantees progression.

Kazuchika Okada works over Will Ospreay’s arm and wrist before Okada took Ospreay into the ropes and swung at him. Ospreay ducks and lands a shot of his own by taking Okada outside for a plancha before a dive from Ospreay gets cut off as Okada hits a flapjack before Ospreay was taken outside and DDT on the floor.

Ospreay gets drill with a 2nd DDT by the ring then a 3rd one as soon as he returned to the ring & that gets Okada a two count before an elbow to Ospreay’s neck sinks him in the corner, forcing Ospreay to try and fight back as he ducks a sliding back elbow and instead hits a handspring enziguiri.

Okada gets hit with a springboard forearm for a two count before a Falcon Arrow kept Ospreay ahead but Okada is able to come back from a powerbomb attempt but it gets counter with a neckbreaker slam before they began to trade elbows but Ospreay connects with a hook kick.

Ospreay’s OsCutter gets counter as Okada backslides him into a Rainmaker and keeps the grip on the wrist before a 2nd Rainmaker is escaped by Ospreay but Okada dropkicks away an OsCutter then Ospreay proceeded to take Okada up top for a Spanish Fly but it’s pushed away but instead Ospreay countered with a Tower Of London onto the apron.

Ospreay rolls back into the ring first as he looks to take the count out win but once Okada gets back in he connects with Coast 2 Coast for a near fall.

Another OsCutter finally counters a Rainmaker but it’s not enough as Ospreay then misses Leap Of Faith and got lock into Money Clip after the landing.

Money Clip gets turned into a backbreaker then Okada reapplies it before Okada switches it up with the spinning Rainmaker as he then went back to the Money Clip but Ospreay is able to get back to his feet and charges Okada into the corner to break the hold only to get lifted up top and dropkick down to the floor.

Back inside Ospreay almost gets the win with a standing Spanish Fly before he went for Hidden Blade but it was almost turned into the landslide as Ospreay slips out and hits Hidden Blade then he tries to go for Storm Breaker but Okada counters with a back body drop then he does a sit down pin nearly got Okada the win.

Okada connects with landslide tombstone took out Ospreay returns with a Rainmaker Blade before he drills Okada with Storm Breaker to get the win.
