AEW TBS Champion Persephone, who is also the reigning CMLL World Women’s Champion, discussed her feelings about being the TBS Champion in an interview with MuscleMan Malcom for The Sportster.
Persephone said, “It feels great, but I don’t think it’s fully settled in. Like, I don’t think I’ve really sat with it yet. Because this dual contract is fantastic but at the same time, it’s chaotic. I came back from Wembley. I landed Monday night, and I was wrestling in Arena Mexico Tuesday. And then I was flying out Wednesday morning for Dynamite. So then like, I feel like I’m running back and forth from country to country, like from company to company. And so I don’t know that I’ve actually had time to really digest it and sit with it. I feel like I’m always just running to the next event.”
On how she felt right after the match at All In:
“Well, and even then, there’s not really a moment right after you win to just digest it. Because I remember I won and I mean, yeah like you said, emotions are running high and you just came off of Wembley, right? And Wembley is freaking huge. And also there was a moment of, ‘Holy crap, like I’m in Wembley and it’s packed.’ It was a wild moment. But like I said, there’s not really too much time to like digest it. Because I remember I came down and it wasn’t a matter of like, ‘Ah, let me rest, let me take off my boots, let me –‘ It hadn’t ended, because right after that, I remember they said, ‘You and Britt are going to have a moment to say whatever you all want to say.’ Because obviously it was Brit’s comeback. And so, they let us know, ‘You guys have so much time to just say what’s on your mind, say what just happened even.’ You know, especially was just a ‘What the hell’ moment. So I couldn’t really go anywhere, because obviously we’re waiting for the cue of, ‘You guys are live.’ So we’re back there for a few minutes, that happened. And then right after that you’re kind of getting yelled at of, ‘Okay, now you got to get into this. Now you got to go do this. Now you got to go do this.’ And so, there’s not too much time to just sit with it. I remember once it all ended, I called my parents, because that’s usually a go-to after anything. And then I can kind of like say I chilled out a bit. But even then, I flew out the next morning like around 6:00, I had to be out of the hotel to get to Mexico. So I feel like it’s been very like, ‘go go go.’”
