WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan has been officially pulled from the road following a shoulder injury she sustained during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury, which occurred during a match with Kairi Sane on Monday’s red brand show, is said to be significant enough to require surgery.
Multiple sources within WWE have confirmed to us that Morgan will be undergoing surgery soon, and as of this week, she will not be featured in any capacity on live WWE programming. There is currently no timetable for her return, though the expectation is that she will be sidelined for an extended period while she rehabs the injury.
Despite the setback, there are currently no plans to vacate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships as of Friday morning, according to a new report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. We’re told a creative direction has already been established for how the titles will be handled moving forward. While details remain closely guarded, the belief internally is that WWE will address the championship picture in a storyline capacity rather than strip Morgan and Rodriguez of the belts outright.
We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge regarding Morgan’s status and WWE’s evolving plans for the tag titles.
