The October 14 edition of AEW “Rampage” was taped Thursday night from the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Full spoilers are listed below:
* Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and William Regal were on commentary
* AEW President Tony Khan spoke before the taping and said he’s happy to be in Canada. Strong pop for Khan
* AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli defeated The Butcher and The Blade. Backstage, Adam Page was seen watching. Following the match, Moxley and Castagnoli made babyface promos, and Moxley warned Hangman.
* Renee Paquette conducted a backstage interview with Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. There was some disagreement between the two, with Lee questioning the need to cheat in order to win.
* Chris Jericho and The Jericho Appreciation Society, ROH World Champion, enter the ring. ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia was introduced by Anna Jay, but their promo was cut short by ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Dalton Castle and The Boys. Castle challenged Jericho, and the match was set for next week, with the title on the line.
* Nyla Rose defeated Anna Jay. Vickie Guerrero raised a 1-0 sign for Rose. Rose came out still in possession of the AEW TBS Title but champion Jade Cargill and The Baddies attacked Rose and Marina Shafir following the bout. While Cargill fought off security, Rose managed to escape with Cargill’s title.
* Renee Paquette conducted a backstage interview with The Dark Order. The match between 10 and Rush has been scheduled for next week, and if 10 wins, Rush and his men must leave The Dark Order alone.
* Ethan Page defeated Isaiah Kassidy quickly. The Canadian crowd cheered loudly for Page. Stokely Hathaway attempted to get in Kassidy’s face for interference at one point, but Matt Hardy blocked him. Hardy must now join The Firm as per the agreement. If Kassidy had won, Private Party would have been released from their contracts with The Firm, which which were just bought on Dynamite from the Andrade Family Office.
* Mark Henry conducted interviews with the main event participants.
* Shawn Spears and AAA, IWGP & ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR defeated The Embassy’s Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona. FTR and Spears had good reactions. FTR and Spears both had good responses. Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett appeared after the bout to challenge FTR. Before the heels beat up Spears and FTR, Maria cut a heel promo. The heels were forced to move to the stage when ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe and AEW TNT Champion Wardlow made the save. Dax Harwood took the mic and declared Bennett and Taven are the Wish.com equivalent of FTR in what could have been a post-show promo. Spears stated that there has been much speculation about his future, but his mother, who was a Perfect Ten, died two months ago. Fans chanted for Spears’ mother. Spears stated that on his last Mother’s Day with her, he made sure she was the first to hear that he and Cassie Lee were having a child.
