NJPW star Tomoaki Honma announced earlier this week that he was undergoing elbow surgery. He recently shared on his Twitter (X) account that the surgery was a success.
Honma wrote, “I was admitted to the hospital today. I’ll have surgery tomorrow. It’s the elbow, not the neck. Let’s meet again when I’m back to full strength.”
He also shared, “Good morning🌈 The surgery was successful. I want to get better and meet everyone. Let’s do our best today too. Hooray.”
As reported by PWMania.com, the wrestling veteran announced in July that he plans to retire from the ring in 2027. Honma is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion, having held the title alongside Togi Makabe.
