On Sunday, April 7th, WWE held Night 2 of the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 40. WrestleMania Sunday was the night when everything came to a head. The main event featured Cody Rhodes looking to finally “finish his story” as he took on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

However, we also saw Seth Rollins look to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre, Bayley looks to become the WWE Women’s Champion by knocking off her former friend, Iyo Sky, and so much more. On a night when new champions were crowned, historic reigns ended, and moments were made, what were the top three moments?

Top 3 Moments of WWE WrestleMania Sunday

3. Bayley knocks off Iyo Sky to become the new WWE Women’s Champion

One of the bigger stories for WrestleMania season came on the SmackDown side. Former friends turned bitter enemies, Bayley and Iyo Sky have truly done it all together. When Bayley made her return to the WWE at Summerslam in 2022, she didn’t come back alone. She brought back Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai to form Damage CTRL.

Over time, things changed. Asuka and Kairi Sane were added, and eventually, Bayley would be kicked out. At WrestleMania Sunday, it all came to a head. Bayley finally got her WrestleMania moment by knocking off Iyo Sky and becoming the new WWE Women’s Champion. This victory was well deserved, and much credit to Iyo Sky for a very fun WWE Women’s Championship reign.

2. Damian Priest becomes the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion

In the night’s opening match, Seth Rollins looked to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against a very game Drew McIntyre. Unfortunately for Rollins, his match last night with The Rock & Roman Reigns took a toll on him physically. At the end of his match with McIntyre, McIntyre would land a huge claymore kick to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, things didn’t end there. Unfortunately, McIntyre let himself get in his way and tried to once again pick a fight with Punk. This time, CM Punk fought back and opened the door for the Damian Priest cash-in. Priest would go on to do just that, successfully. Priest is a great choice to lead the WWE into this new Triple H era, and he is bound to have a very good run with the championship.

1. Cody Rhodes finishes his story

Finally. In the main event of WrestleMania Sunday, Cody Rhodes met Roman Reigns in a “Bloodline Rules” match. This match was about as chaotic as it came. Reigns and Rhodes went at it alone for a good portion of the match. However, towards the end of the match, all hell would proceed to break loose.

Starting with Jey taking out Jimmy with a spear off the stage, John Cena followed suit and took out Solo Sikoa, and this ultimately led to The Undertaker being the equalizer for The Rock. Ultimately, it ended with Rhodes finally defeating Reigns and finishing the story. This was about as chaotic of a main event as you could get.

All in all, this was the perfect ending to one of the greatest reigns we have ever seen. Love him or hate him, you have to give Regns his flowers. At WrestleMania, it was made clear that Cody Rhodes is truly the company’s number-one babyface and the “John Cena” of this era. This was an incredible event full of a ton of great action and moments.

What a night, and what a WrestleMania!
