Biggest Upsets In WWE History

Usually, WWE fans know exactly what to expect from matches. This is a part of the reason why they love professional wrestling. While surprises do sometimes happen, they are usually minor or at least expected. This is definitely not the case with the huge upsets presented below. They were a surprise for everyone, including bookmakers at sites like those presented on online-casinos.ng

Eddie Guerrero Beats Brock Lesnar

At that point in time, Lesnar was booked just like now. He was an unstoppable monster with very high credibility. Basically, everyone that went up against him was an underdog. The same was the case with Eddie Guerrero as he faced Lesnar at WrestleMania XX. Thanks to the different styles, the match was great and it brought a surprise: Eddie won.

Kevin Owens Beats John Cena

When Kevin Owens joined the WWE, he was put on the NXT brand and was successful. Eventually, when it was time to make his main roster debut, he was the NXT champion. During the reign, he appeared on the big show as Cena was challenging anyone. A match between Owens and Cena was set up. Almost nobody believed that Owens will win his debut against Cena but this is exactly what happened.

Mankind Wins The World Title

The WWE vs WCW Monday Night Wars were filled with dirty tricks. The most important one was the one used by Eric Bischoff as he gave away the results of WWE Raw matches. This hugely backfired in 1999, on January 4. This was when he said that Mankind was going to beat The Rock for the covenant World Championship.

Because he said Mankind will win, a large part of the audience switched from Nitro to Raw. This was when Raw first won the ratings in a long time and never lost again. All because Mankind upset the huge favorite, The Rock.

Chris Jericho Beating Steve Austin And The Rock On The Same Night

Chris Jericho is one of the WWE stars that were underappreciated and underrated. His career was very long and he did manage to achieve numerous things that people just dream about. One of the big achievements was the wins he had over Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson, both happening on the same night.

The reason why the event was a huge upset was that both The Rock and Steve Austin were seen as being much more important in wrestling than Jericho. He did win with some interference but that does not really matter for the history books.

Brock Lesnar Beating The Streak

There is no upset in the history of the WWE that is more shocking than this one. Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s legendary WrestleMania winning streak. Nobody thought this was going to happen so when it actually happened, the entire world was shocked. In fact, for an event like WrestleMania, it was incredible to see the entire arena quiet. Although many criticized what happened, there is no way to deny the fact that this moment instantly made Brock Lesnar the hugely priced wrestler he is right now.
