Cary Silkin Clarifies Comments He Made About ROH Under Tony Khan

Former ROH owner Cary Silkin recently spoke with Mark Oโ€™Brien of WrestleMobs about a number of topics, including his comments about the promotion not being treated very well under Tony Khan’s ownership.

Silkin said, โ€œItโ€™s unbelievable how that quote got picked up. What they left out, if you listen to the show, I also said, โ€˜Hey, Iโ€™m happy everyoneโ€™s got a place to work, and Iโ€™m sure Tony Khan will get Ring of Honor on television. Heโ€™s a busy man.โ€™ For me saying, โ€˜Well, nobody really cares about it,โ€™ how can they? Itโ€™s not in a positionโ€ฆlisten, Iโ€™ve met Tony Khan, heโ€™s an awesome guy. My friends all work for me. Yes, he gets criticized by all these f***ing podcasts and this and that. But hey, deep down, heโ€™s a good guy, and I know damn well his intentions for Ring of Honor will be as best as possible. How can he manage everything? Itโ€™s insanity.โ€

On his hopes for the companyโ€™s future:

โ€œOnce again, Tony Khanโ€™s a good guy, and heโ€™s got a lot of stuff on his plate. But what I would like to see is, youโ€™ve got Jay Lethal, youโ€™ve got Taven, Bennett, Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, Kyle Oโ€™Reilly, Dalton Castle, Mark Briscoe, thereโ€™s probably another ten names, Shane Taylor, and a number of other names that Iโ€™m leaving off the list. These are guys that were all associated with Ring of Honor, and I never was a booker, but these names I see on the card, alright, I get it, years have gone by. But if you have these names of legacy, use them. I would feel better as opposed to Gravity and whoever, but itโ€™s okay. Itโ€™s okay. Itโ€™s a different thing. My friend Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman are still the announcers. Bobby Cruise, who Iโ€™ve known for too long, god bless him, heโ€™s still there and heโ€™s doing really well with AEW. We left off Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson. So if thereโ€™s a Ring of Honor pay-per-view, use them. Itโ€™s so obvious. But theyโ€™re in other programs. But whatever. Thatโ€™s my selfish thinking.โ€
