According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event in London, England is already shaping up to be one of AEW’s biggest financial successes to date.
Reporting on the early ticket sales for the August 24, 2025 show at The O2 Arena, Meltzer revealed that the pre-sale alone has already topped $1 million:
“The advance for Forbidden Door on 8/24 in London at the O2 Arena for the pre-sale topped $1 million.”
The event, a co-branded showcase between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling, is currently projected to rank as the third-largest gate in AEW history—behind only the two All In events held at Wembley Stadium in 2023 and 2024. Meltzer continued:
“But it’ll likely end up as the third biggest gate in AEW history, trailing the two Wembley Stadium shows, unless All In Texas starts moving more tickets.”
Ticket prices for the show are reportedly on the higher side, helping to boost the early gate numbers and continuing AEW’s recent upward trend in live ticket sales.
