Marigold star and Japanese wrestling legend Mayu Iwatani revealed via her Instagram Stories that she has suffered a broken rib and was treated at a hospital. Iwatani noted that the pain she’s currently experiencing is severe, and she is now recovering.
Iwatani most recently competed on Saturday, teaming with Komomo Minami in a tag team loss to Darkness Revolution. This was her final match before the injury was reported.
The former World of STARDOM Champion and IWGP Women’s Champion officially joined Marigold last month after an illustrious run in STARDOM, where she captured nearly every major title. Her move to Marigold was seen as a major acquisition for the new promotion, and her injury will be a significant setback.
