CMLL star Zeuxis has announced that she recently underwent surgery to repair a meniscus tear, which she sustained prior to her match against AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Monรฉ at AEW Grand Slam: Mexico.
Zeuxis shared the update on Twitter (X), stating (via Google Translate):
โAfter 1 month with a meniscus tear and working at 100%, finally coming out of surgery, and ready for recovery to be at 1000%, Iโll be absent from what I love most, which is the ring and the fans, but I promise to return and bring back everything that belongs to me.โ
The bout marked a major turning point, as Monรฉ ended Zeuxisโ 278-day reign as CMLL World Womenโs Champion. The match was part of a high-profile stretch for Monรฉ, who is currently one of the most decorated champions in wrestling. In addition to the CMLL World Womenโs Title, Monรฉ also holds the AEW TBS Championship, the RevPro Undisputed British Womenโs Championship, and the EWA Womenโs Championship.
After recently winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Monรฉ is set to challenge “Timeless” Toni Storm for the AEW Womenโs World Championship later this month at AEW All In: Texas.
