Following the emotional challenge laid down by Bully Ray at TNA Slammiversary, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has weighed in โ and heโs not holding back.
During a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker gave a blunt and critical assessment of the proposed dream match between Team 3D and The Hardy Boyz at TNA Bound for Glory on October 12, stating flat-out that the match โis not possibleโ and urging both legendary teams to โlet it go.โ
โHe canโt work anymore. Heโs done. Heโs finished.โ
Bookerโs reasoning centers on the health of D-Von Dudley, who suffered a stroke in 2020 and underwent spinal surgery in 2022.
While D-Von has since returned to training students at his wrestling academy and even confirmed that he will wrestle one final match at Bound for Glory, Booker isnโt convinced. โLet me tell you something, itโs not possible,โ Booker said. โD-Von, damn it, he just had a heart attack or a stroke not too long ago. He canโt work anymore. Heโs done. Heโs finished.โ
Booker made it clear that he doesnโt believe the match should happen under any circumstances, regardless of the fansโ nostalgia or the significance of the moment.
โJust Donโt Know When To Let It Goโ
Booker also criticized Bully Ray (aka Bubba Ray Dudley) for continuing to push for one last encounter, suggesting that some legends simply donโt know when to walk away. โBubba Ray, look, man, these guys just donโt know when to let it go. Thatโs my thing,โ Booker continued. โThey just donโt know when to put it down. Itโs over. Okay?โ
While fans were buzzing after the Slammiversary confrontation, Booker believes itโs time for all involved to move on from the iconic rivalry.
He praised other current wrestling storylines, including Jacy Jayne, Trick Williams, and AJ Styles, but drew the line at reviving The Dudleys vs. The Hardys. โAll that other stuff you was talking about โ Jacy Jayne and Trick Williams, AJ Styles, all that stuff, thatโs cool. But letโs forget about The Dudleys vs. The Hardys. Letโs just forget about it.โ
Despite Bookerโs remarks, TNA has officially teased the dream match as a reality for Bound for Glory, and D-Von himself confirmed on Insight with Chris Van Vliet that the bout would be a true farewell.
