As reported by PWMania.com, pro wrestling veteran Mercedes Martinez announced in August that she was cutting her final tour short and retiring from the ring due to a torn ACL. To help cover the expenses of her ACL surgery, she launched a GoFundMe campaign.

Recently, Martinez provided an update on her Twitter (X) account, stating that she has scheduled the surgery after raising enough money for the deposit. However, she still has not fully covered the costs of the surgery.

Martinez wrote, “Good news! ACL surgery is 10/15.

Enough to cover deposit, but not quite at full surgery cost.

1 month to go & [praying] to get the surgery fully paid.

TY for every donation/share. Truly humbled & grateful.

Goal 1: Surgery
Goal 2: Rehab

The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $25,000. As of now, it has collected $10,053. Martinez is an alumnus of WWE, ROH/AEW, TNA, SHIMMER, and other promotions. In 2022, she held the ROH Women’s World Championship before losing the title to the current champion, Athena.
