As previously reported, the 2026 edition of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament will begin on next Tuesday’s NXT episode.
NXT General Manager Robert Stone recently announced that The Vanity Project, consisting of WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes, along with The Wagner Brothers, who are the AAA World Tag Team Champions Galeno and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., will receive byes in the tournament. This is due to their status as champions in their respective promotions. The Wagner Brothers won the AAA World Tag Team titles from The War Raiders at AAA TripleMania 34 Night Two.
So far, the only other team confirmed for the tournament is The Creed Brothers, made up of Julius Creed and Brutus Creed. Stone stated on Tuesday’s show that the tournament will feature talent from NXT, AAA, RAW, and SmackDown.
