The title is currently held by Joseph Sawyer, who has missed several events after walking out of his match against John Jeffrey at The Score on September 26 due to a knee injury. He had to withdraw from a few indie dates while recovering but is scheduled to compete at TNA Bound For Glory this Sunday. Sawyer won the title on the first night of the promotion’s Homecoming event on August 15.
