Backstage News On Two AEW Stars Returning To The Ring

After months away from the ring, Kota Ibushi is officially back in All Elite Wrestling. AEW announced that Ibushi will make his first televised in-ring appearance since November 2023 on tonight’s episode of Dynamite, where he will square off against Trent Beretta in a highly anticipated singles match.

This will be the first-ever singles encounter between Ibushi and Beretta. According to Fightful Select, AEW officials reportedly felt that Beretta was an ideal opponent for Ibushi’s return due to his versatility and experience working both American and Japanese wrestling styles.

Beretta, who himself just recently returned from an extended injury hiatus, will be competing in his first singles match since Double or Nothing 2024, where he suffered a loss to Orange Cassidy.

Fightful also noted that Ibushi is in significantly improved physical condition, having taken time to recover from various injuries that plagued him throughout the last year.

AEW Dynamite airs tonight from the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington, starting at 8:00 PM EST. The episode will be simulcast on Max.
