Eddie Kingston Not Medically Cleared, Pulled From AEW Collision Match

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced during a live stream on Friday, just before ROH Death Before Dishonor 2026, that “The Mad King” Eddie Kingston has not been medically cleared to compete. As a result, he will not face Claudio Castagnoli of the Death Riders in the quarterfinals of the Continental Challenge Cup tournament, as previously advertised.

Instead, Castagnoli will now compete against the winner of a match between Adam Priest and Daniel Garcia, which took place at Death Before Dishonor. Garcia ultimately emerged victorious in that match.

Currently, there is no information regarding the reason for Kingston’s medical disqualification. He made his return to AEW television on the August 8th episode of Collision. Kingston was also pulled from a scheduled match at C4 Wrestling’s benefit show the previous Friday, though it remains unclear if that was for the same reason.

AEW Collision will take place on Saturday at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, and will air live on TNT and HBO Max. This episode is the penultimate one leading up to AEW All In: London, which is set for Sunday, August 30th.
