Elijah (Elias) Suffers Torn Triceps During NXT Match, Undergoes Surgery

In an unfortunate development amid the growing collaboration between WWE and TNA Wrestling, Elijah—known to longtime WWE fans as Elias—has suffered a torn triceps during a recent match on WWE NXT.

According to Fightful Select, the injury occurred during Elijah’s appearance on this week’s episode of NXT, which was part of the ongoing talent-sharing agreement between WWE and TNA. The veteran star reportedly sustained the injury while executing a top-rope maneuver, delivering a double knee drop to his opponent’s chest. As he landed, he used his arms to brace the fall, which led to the triceps tear.

In a testament to the strength of the working relationship between the two promotions, TNA’s Lead Ringside Physician was present at the WWE Performance Center and assisted the NXT medical team in evaluating and treating Elijah immediately following the incident.

Elijah has already undergone successful surgery to repair the injury, though there is no official timetable for his return to in-ring competition.

PWMania.com wishes Elijah a full and speedy recovery.
