WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke on his podcast, “Grilling JR,” about a variety of professional wrestling topics including his thoughts on some of the wrestlers involved in the event.

LA Knight is being pushed as one of the company’s rising stars, and he began receiving big babyface reactions last year, but some believe he has cooled off in recent months. Jim Ross stated on his podcast that he is not sold on Knight.

Ross said, “LA Knight is one of the favorites of the office. I haven’t totally bought into his persona. Not to say it in a bad way. I haven’t seen him do anything that I didn’t like. I just gotta feel it more. They gotta do a little bit more character development to get me to buy into who this dude is and why I should give a sh*t. He’s got a good future ahead, no doubt about that.”

Ross believes it is not “out of the realm of comprehension” that Cody’s next opponent will be a babyface.

Ross added, “My goal would be to get the best matches that you can in the ring. LA Knight can talk and he can take bumps, he can feed a comeback, the same as a lot of guys. That’s what you look for. Can you mechanically execute what is needed to be done? All the guys we talked about here today…they can all do that.”

Knight might be in line for a title shot at the next pay-per-view. He and AJ Styles each won Triple Threat matches on SmackDown last week. Styles and Knight will face off this Friday for a title shot against Cody Rhodes at Backlash.
