New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has announced the lineup for the semifinals of the G1 Climax 36 tournament. The event will take place this weekend at the iconic Ryogoku Sumo Hall, with the semifinals scheduled for today, August 15th.
Yota Tsuji and Ryohei Oiwa have qualified for the semifinals from Block A, while Callum Newman and Yuya Uemura have advanced from Block B to complete the semifinal lineup. In the first semifinal match, Block A leader Tsuji will face Block B runner-up Uemura. The second semifinal will feature Block B winner Callum Newman competing against Block A runner-up Oiwa.
However, these matches will not be the main events of today’s show. That honor goes to the four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Tenzan, who will participate in a five-minute exhibition match against his longtime partner Satoshi Kojima. Additionally, several multi-man matches are scheduled for today’s show, featuring notable wrestlers such as Konosuke Takeshita, Gabe Kidd, Wheeler Yuta, Zack Sabre Jr., and others.
