NJPW G1 Climax Night 11 Results – August 1, 2023

Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Hikuleo (4) vs. Kaito Kiymoiya (6)

Hikuleo must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Kaito Kiyomiya tries to charge down Hikuleo early on but gets flung with a back body drop as things spilled outside with Kiyomiya getting thrown into the barriers. Back inside a floatover from Kiyomiya’s caught as he eventually took out Hikuleo’s leg.

Hikuleo hits an overhand chop before hitting Snake Eyes and a clothesline to take down Kiyomiya before a dragon screw helps Kiyomiya back in it as he then went back to the legs with a Figure 4 following with a Tiger Suplex for a near fall.

A 2nd Tiger suplex is blocked as Hikuleo countered back with a powerslam instead before an attempt at Godsend was countered into a rana for a near fall. Kiyomiya’s 2nd rana is block as Hikuleo hits a powerslam before Godsend gets him the win.

Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
IWGP Tag Team Champion Yoshi Hashi (4) vs. Great O Khan (2)

Yoshi Hashi must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Great O Khan takes down Yoshi Hashi before he escapes a triangle choke as Yoshi Hashi tried his luck with an armbar but O Khan gets to the ropes. O Khan’s head & arm choke has Yoshi Hashi before he makes it to the ropes to force a break.

Mongolian Chops take Yoshi Hashi into the corner as O Khan continued to dominate at least until a basement dropkick took out O-Khan’s knee before a Head Hunter connects then a dropkick to O Khan in the ropes ahead of a blockbuster for a near fall before O Khan fought back with a back body drop.

Yoshi Hashi gets taken back into the corner as O Khan lifts him up into a torture rack following up with a drop for a near fall then Sheep Killer follows then Tenzan Tombstone Driver almost gets the win before Yoshi Hashi DDT’s his way out of The Eliminator.

A Western Lariat before a sit out powerbomb gets a near fall before a Kumagoroshi scores a near fall before O Khan caught him out of nowhere with a pop up Eliminator for the win.

Winner: Great O Khan (4) (13:50) (Since Yoshi Hashi lost he is mathematically eliminated)

Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
Ren Narita (2) vs. Chase Owens (4)

Owens must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Ren Narita takes Chase Owens to the outside and into the railings but Owens returns the favour before a neckbreaker caught Narita through the ropes for a near fall before a nerve hold keeps Narita down.

Narita hits back with a bridging half hatch suplex for a two count before Owens took Narita throat first into the ropes before clothesline gets Owens further ahead before Narita hits back with an exploder for a near fall.

Owens hits a bell clapper to stop a Kanuki suplex as Owens connects with C Trigger in the ropes then goes for the Package Piledriver but Narita counters it.

Narita ducks Jewel Heist and counters into a Cobra Twist from there pulling Owens into the middle of the ring and into a manjigatame for the submission win.

Winner By Submission: Ren Narita (9:08) (Since Owens lost he is mathematically eliminated)

Non Title Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
KOPW 2023 Champion Taichi (6) vs. El Phantasmo (4)

ELP must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Match starts off with a handshake before both men go back & forth chops before El Phantasmo manages to pull ahead with a Tijeras to take things outside then drags Taichi in front of the fans for some chops.

Back inside the ring Taichi takes down Phantasmo with a Kitchen Sink knee before ELP got caught in a Cobra Twist but ELP drags himself to the ropes for the break as Taichi remains in front at least until ELP lands a springboard crossbody and Quebrada for a two count.

Kipping up ELP connects with a a slam and a forearm off the middle rope only for a Sudden Death to get counter with an enziguiri then they traded kicks but it’s Taichi that finds a way through at first before an ELP hits an enziguiri.

Another attempt at Sudden Death is stop as Taichi came back with an Axe Bomber before the Dangerous Backdrop Driver almost got him the win then out of nowhere ELP nails Sudden Death gave him a near fall.

Taichi superkicks away an attempt at the CRII then went for a Black Mephisto which ELP tries to counter that leads to him getting caught in a Taichi Style Gedo Clutch for a near fall.

ELP tries a Gedo Style Taichi Clutch of his own for a 2 count then traded more strikes before that leads to Sudden Death and a Taichi Style Gedo Clutch gets the win.

Champion vs. Champion Block A Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Sanada (10) vs. Strong Openweight Tag Team Champion Gabriel Kidd (5)

Gabriel Kidd nails Sanada with the Strong Openweight Tag Team Title before the bell then met him on the floor as the guard rails came into play before the referee is pushed aside as Kidd went to use a chair and pops the seat over Sanada’s head.

Taking things inside the ring Kidd demands the bell to be ring as he pulls up Sanada for a Saito suplex & that gets a two count.

Kidd lifts Sanada up and shoving him to the floor, before he snatched Sanada’s IWGP World Heavyweight Title and posed with it then Kidd threatened the ref as he wouldn’t count out Sanada so Kidd heads back outside to throw Sanada into the crowd.

The crowd is made to scatter as Kidd cannonballs into Sanada in the crowd and back inside Sanada finds a way through with some dropkicks to take Kidd outside following with a plancha and a whip into the rails.

Sanada continues to take Kidd into the railings then back into the crowd for a piledriver on the floor but Kidd reverses a whip as he sent Sanada over the railings but Sanada springs back in to beat the 20 count.

Sanada with a magic screw followed back inside the ring before Kidd bites his way out of a superplex then hung up Sanada in a hangman’s choke.

Kidd gets a two count out of a brainbuster before an attempted piledriver was thrown away by Sanada then a Shining Wizard follows but we’ve a teased ref bump as Sanada went for a Dead Fall but the ref misses a low blow as Kidd nearly wins with a tombstone before Kidd missing a moonsault before Sanada locks in Skull End.

Kidd tries to counter back into a Tombstone before he used the ref as a human shield. Sanada gets hit with a closed fist but in falling down he accidentally punts Kidd low before he hits another Shining Wizard follow by Deadfall gets the victory.

Non Title Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
United States Champion Will Ospreay (8) vs. Tanga Loa (4)

Loa must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Tanga Loa tried to overpower Will Ospreay by sending him onto the apron as Ospreay opted to throw some strikes which Loa laughed off before a Biel brought Ospreay back in, but Ospreay then turns up the pace and almost got caught with a roll up before Loa went to Ospreay’s midsection.

Ospreay finds form with a forearm off the middle rope for a two count before a reversed Irish whip led to a back body drop from Tanga Loa. Ospreay gets drop across the edge of the ring as Tanga again took the upper hand by hitting 3 Amigos before Ospreay hits back with a handspring enziguiri.

Loa gets hit with a springboard forearm after that as Ospreay looked to pull ahead but he can’t get a Storm Breaker off as he instead got met with a barrage of strikes bouncing into the corner as he went. Ospreay flips out of a German suplex and kicked his way back into it by landing a hook kick before a Blue Thunder Bomb cuts him off.

They trade blows from there with Ospreay’s Kawada kicks helping him back up Loa into the corner but Loa struck back with a forearm before he nails Ospreay with a clothesline for a near fall. Ospreay hits a flip stunner to counter an Apeshit then hits OsCutter for a near fall.

Ospreay aborts a Leap Of Faith before he was met with an uppercut on the outside as he went for a plancha before Ospreay went for an OsCutter off the rails but ends up getting shoved into the front row which led to a count out tease.

Ospreay gets nail with a spear as Loa pulls off a hit and run as he rolls back into the ring to get the Count Out win.

Shota Umino (6) vs. Yota Tsuji (3)

Tsuji must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Shota Umino shoots out of the corner with a dropkick at the bell as he was all over Yota Tsuji to start but a push down stomp from Tsuji led to him taking things outside for a tope then back inside shoulder charges have Tsuji ahead as did a body slam and the Mount Tsuji splash before a snapmare and a chinlock kept Umino grounded.

Umino finally turns it around with the facebuster and a diving uppercut while a fisherman’s suplex gets a near fall then Tsuji tries to block an exploder but ends up running into it as he’s sent outside for a cannonball off the apron then back inside a missile dropkick and the Trident connects before Tsuji cuts him off.

Tsuji looks for a backslide but his follow up knee strike is block as he ended up getting sent into the ropes for a dropkick. Some headscissors from Tsuji take Umino to the outside but a Fosbury flop is stop as Umino hits a dropkick between the ropes instead & That leads to a slingshot DDT back inside the ring before Tsuji counters Death Rider attempt.

A backbreaker and a Curb Stomp has Umino daze while a 2nd Curb Stomp connects but a follow up Gene Blaster misses as Umino instead came back with a STF but the ropes save Tsuji.

Tsuji fires up with forearms, finally getting similar fire back out of Umino & he hits a enziguiri before Tsuji hits him with a headbutt then a Stinger Splash connects as Tsuji took things up top for a belly 2 belly superplex for a near fall then a suplex/powerbomb for a similar two count.

Umino’s double stomp cuts off Gene Blaster following up with Ignition for another near fall before Umino picks up Tsuji for a hanging DDT then goes for the cover Tsuji barely kicks out then Tsuji pops up Umino into a another Gene Blaster gets the win.

Block B Match Of The 2023 G1 Climax
NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Kazuchika Okada (8) vs. Kenta (4)

Kenta must win or he’s mathematically eliminated.

Match starts off with Kenta heads outside before Kazuchika Okada finally catches him cutting through the ring but Kenta quickly rolling back outside where he caught Okada giving chase. Okada gets sent into the guard rails before kicks back inside led to a DDT from Kenta before a Figure 4 headscissors follow as did a neckbreaker.

Okada’s forearms connects as a DDT from Okada then Kenta’s tornado Gun Stun gets stop as Okada dropkicks him to the floor instead where a front kick knocks Kenta over the guard rails. Kenta is able to sneak back in with a Green Killer as he beat Okada to the DDT on the floor & causing another count out tease in the process.

Back inside Okada gets hit with a hesitation dropkick in the corner while a flying double stomp almost led to the win. Okada hits back with the neckbreaker slam before a Money Clip is lock in before Kenta charging them into the corner squishing the referee in the process.

Kenta kicks the referee to the floor & he grabs a kendo stick & it gets worn out on Okada before he hits a shotgun dropkick before a Defy Title shot gets dropkicked away by Okada & his attempted at Rainmaker gets counter with a cradle before he came right back with a tombstone.

Kenta gets pull up but palm strikes stun Okada ahead of a pair of Busaiku Knees before Okada’s dropkick finally forces an opening as he countered a Busaiku Knee into a landslide.

Before Rainmaker was ducked then a 2nd Landslide follows before Okada lands a Rainmaker for the win.

Winner: NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Champion Kazuchika Okada (10) (19:10) (Since Kenta lost he is mathematically eliminated)
