PWMania.com previously reported that WWE legend and 17-time World Champion John Cena is scheduled to appear on next week’s episode of RAW in Brooklyn, New York. Cena hinted that he will officially reveal details about the upcoming John Cena Classic tournament.
During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that WWE will announce the tournament as a one-night event scheduled to take place alongside the December AEW pay-per-view, Worlds End, on December 19. Bryan Alvarez expressed his belief that December 19 may actually be when the tournament finals occur, as he does not foresee the event being a “one-night thing.”
Meltzer acknowledged that he is unsure of the specifics but noted that the John Cena Classic was initially planned as a one-night event.
The AEW Worlds End 2026 is set for Saturday, December 19, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Meanwhile, next week’s WWE RAW, featuring John Cena, will take place at the Barclays Center and will broadcast live on Netflix starting at 6 PM ET.
