WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has praised AEW President Tony Khan for his generosity, revealing that he continues to receive support from Khan despite having little involvement in the promotion’s current programming.

During a recent interview with NewsNation, Flair discussed his relationship with Khan, describing the AEW President as an exceptionally generous individual who maintains a demanding schedule across his professional responsibilities. “Tony’s a great guy, generous to a fault,” Flair said. “With all the work that he has, he does three TV shows a week, and the Jaguars, who are kicking ass right now, he’ll be in England with the Jaguars.”

Flair expressed admiration for Khan’s ability to balance his responsibilities with AEW and the Jacksonville Jaguars while maintaining an active personal life. “I mean, he just keeps moving, man. He’s got that Learjet, he’s got a beautiful girlfriend, and he’s a nice guy. He’s generous.”

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer then made an interesting admission about his own relationship with AEW, suggesting that Khan continues to take care of him financially despite his limited involvement with the company. “I work for him, and I don’t do anything,” Flair stated. “I think he takes care of me out of respect for me. He grew up on me, and he’s just a wonderful guy.”

Flair’s comments highlighted the personal respect he believes Khan has for his contributions to professional wrestling.

The wrestling legend also addressed WWE, making it clear that he still holds many people within the organization in high regard. However, Flair expressed concerns about the company’s history of releasing employees, suggesting that the uncertainty surrounding job security can be difficult for those working behind the scenes. “It’s not that the guys in WWE aren’t great. I just think they’re all trying to hang on to their jobs because you never know,” Flair explained. “They’ve fired so many people. They were an integral part of my career when I was there, and I don’t understand the rhyme or reason for it.”

Flair specifically referenced individuals who worked on his Peacock documentary, noting that some of those involved in the production were subsequently released from WWE. “Some of the people who did my documentary on Peacock, which was fantastic, by the way, have been fired,” he said. “Two of the guys who helped produce it have been fired, though obviously not Tom Rinaldi. They just do what they want to do.”

While Flair did not identify the individuals he was referring to, his remarks reflected his frustration with personnel decisions involving people he had worked with during his time in WWE.

Flair’s interview offered a contrast between his experiences with the two promotions, with the wrestling legend praising Khan’s personal generosity while questioning WWE’s approach to employee retention.

His comments also provided insight into his current AEW arrangement, although Flair did not disclose any financial details or clarify the specific terms of his relationship with the company.
