ROH Final Battle PPV Results – December 15, 2023

Here are the ROH Final Battle 2023 results from the the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.

Zero Hour Results:

* Taya Valkyrie defeated Jasmin Allure with a modified Curb-stomp for the pinfall.

* The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross Von Erich) defeats The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) via double submission with the Iron Claw.

* “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith defeated Jack Cartwheel with a Tiger Driver for the pinfall.

* Danny Garcia defeated Blake Christian via Dragon Tamer submission.

Main Card Results:

* AAA Mega Title Match: Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo defeated Black Taurus to retain his championship.

El Hijo Del Vikingo hits Black Taurus with his 630 Senton finisher for the pinfall.

* ROH Six-Man Tag Team Title Match: Champions Brian Cage & Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) defeated TMDK (Shane Haste, Bad Dude Tito & Kosei Fujita) to retain championships.

In the closing moments of this match, Kosei Fujita was tossed by Gates Of Agony to Brian Cage, who caught him and landed a big powerbomb to pick up the pinfall.

* I Quit Match: Ethan Page defeated Tony Nese.

Nese handcuffed Page, but he escaped. Page hits Nese with a chair and then chokes him using the handcuffs, causing Nese to quit.

* Nyla Rose defeated Vertvixen via powerbomb pinfall in what was not a squash match but still, a quick match to make Rose look dominant.

* Survival of the Fittest Six-Way Elimination Match to Crown a New ROH World Television Champion:
Kyle Fletcher outlasts Komander, Dalton Castle, Lee Moriarty, Lee Johnson, & Bryan Keith to become new ROH World Television Champion.

Order of elimination:
1.) Lee Moriarty eliminated Lee Johnson via submission.
2.) Lee Moriarty eliminated Dalton Castle via pinfall.
3.) Bryan Keith eliminated Lee Moriarty via pinfall.
4.) Kyle Fletcher eliminated Bryan Keith via pinfall.
5.) Kyle Fletcher eliminated Komander via pinfall.

* ROH Pure Title Match: Champion Wheeler Yuta defeated Tom Lawlor by pinfall to retain his championship.

Yuta put Lawlor in a spinning toe hold that he turned into a roll-through pinfall. The ending was awkward, where even the announcers mentioned that it looked like Lawlor had his foot on the rope during the pin.

After the match, Lawlor went to shake Yuta’s hand; however, he hit Lawlor with a low blow. Hook came down to the ring to confront him. Yuta looked like he was going to retreat, but when Hook turned his back on him, Yuta hit a low blow and DDT on Hook.

* Keith Lee defeated Shane Taylor, hitting his Big Bang Catastrophe finisher to pick up the pinfall in a hard-fought contest.

After the match, Lee helped Taylor up and raised Taylor’s hand for the crowd to acknowledge him in a classy show of respect. 

Next, Tony Schiavone is interviewing Bryan Keith in the back. He said he was coming for gold. Orange Cassidy interrupts and says he has some gold, holding up his AEW International Championship. He told Keith, come get it. The match is made and announced for tomorrow’s AEW Collision.

* Six-Man Tag Team Match In Honor Of Jay Briscoe: FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) & Mark Briscoe defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Bryan Danielson), Briscoe pinned Danielson.

The match was initially stopped when the ref lost control, and all six men were battling outside the ring. Mark Briscoe took a mic and told the ref he must have lost his mind! He said this is a match honoring my brother, Jay, and it’s not ending this way. He asked the ref to restart the match as an Anything Goes Match. Tony Khan approved the match and had the match restarted.

Once it restarted, the BBC took control of the match. Many weapons were used, including chairs, tables, thumbtacks, barbed wire, and forks. The story that unfolded during the rest of the match was the will of Briscoe and FTR not to give up. They kept fighting back and would not be denied fighting for Jay Briscoe.

In a fitting end, the match’s final moments saw Mark Briscoe hit the Jay Driller on Bryan Danielson to pick up the three count. The announcers addressed how it was 20 years ago when Jay Briscoe defeated Bryan Danielson at ROH, which put Jay on the map.

* Eddie Kingston defeated Anthony Henry with a stretch plum submission.

After the match Daniel Garcia met Kingston on the ramp for a stare down. Continental Classic Match between the two was promoted and advertised for tomorrow on AEW Collision.

* ROH Women’s World Title Match:
Champion Athena defeated Billie Starkz by submission to retain her championship.

This was a match that had many twists and turns in it. The match had the crowd on their feet for most of the match. There was an uncertainty about who would pull out this match.

In the end, Athena grabbed a hammerlock and rolled through to tie Starkz up into submission to get the win.

There was a staredown after the match, and both wrestlers started arguing as the crowd chanted, “Hug it out.” They did end up hugging it out as Athena raised Starkz’s hand in a show of respect. Nair then joined them in the ring to close out the show in what was a great card and event.
