Spoilers: AEW Collision Taping Results For 7/1/2023

The July 1 episode of AEW Collision was recorded at the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The following are full spoilers for Saturday night’s TNT broadcast:

* AEW World Champion MJF defeated enhancement talent Kip Morris in a non-title match. MJF attacked early in the ring and won via submission with the LeBell Lock. This was brief but ineffective. MJF then took the mic and slammed Hamiltonians. He offered to defend the title against anyone in the area… So a large wrestler appeared, but Ethan Page pushed past him and confronted MJF. Page knocked the mic out of MJF’s hands, then received a standing ovation for his babyface promo against MJF. Page claims that everyone has forgotten what he’s capable of in the ring, so he’s going to remind them and demonstrate what his father taught him. MJF ultimately agreed to defend against Page

* AEW World Champion MJF retained over Ethan Page. This was enjoyable at times. Page was a powerful babyface. MJF finally connected his piledriver and made the pin using the ropes as leverage.

* Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Dustin Rhodes in a quarterfinals match for the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament

* Miro defeated Anthony Henry by submission

* Tony Schiavone interviewed Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White, Juice Robinson and The Gunns in the ring. The heels heeled it up, but were upset when Schiavone announced that they would be barred from ringside for Juice vs. Ricky Starks. When White returned, he took shots at CM Punk and implied he was coming for the AEW World Title, which Punk had in his “goodie bag.” They also issued a warning to FTR and stated that they will be competing for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Punk, FTR, and Starks appeared on the big screen and stated that they are ready to fight at any time

* Ricky Starks defeated Juice Robinson in a quarterfinals match for the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. After the match, Bullet Club Gold surrounded Starks, but before they could attack, CM Punk and FTR appeared to save the day. There was a staredown between the two factions

* AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander retained over Lady Frost

* ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe defeated Roderick Strong in a quarterfinals match for the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. CM Punk provided commentary. Strong did not tap out to the Coquina Clutch, so the referee stopped the match. Joe used a steel chair on Strong after the match. Punk then charged into the ring, staring at Joe as he backed up the ramp. Adam Cole also entered the ring to check on Strong, who was being carried away on a stretcher. This marked the end of the Collision tapings
