WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently took to an episode of his Kurt Angle show podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including how he believes AEW/ROH announcer Nigel McGuinness was such a great chain wrestler.
Angle said, โHe was so good. Technically. He was such a great chain wrestler. What he forgot is psychology. Some psychology. Like. Iโll give you an example. He was a heel. I was wrestling him as a babyface, and he would chain-wrestle me. We would go back and forth, and he would put me in something and put a lock on it so I couldnโt reverse it. And Iโm like, โWhat are you doing, Desmond? Iโm the babyface. Iโm supposed to out-wrestle you. You have to give me an opening.โ And he wasnโt quite understanding it, but after a while, he started picking it up, and he was like, โOh, okay, I got you. Iโm the one that needs to be out-wrestled. Iโm the one that you need to be the better technician because youโre the babyface.โ I said. โExactly. So he finally got it, and we had some great matches, especially our cage match. We had a really, really good match. I really enjoyed wrestling, Desmond. I think we went three straight pay per views.โ
Angle also talked about how McGuinness was a great announcer as well.
Angle said, โHeโs great at it too. Yeah, he is really good.โ
