Ted DiBiase Believes His Gimmick Can Still Work In Today’s Wrestling

WWE Hall of Famer โ€œThe Million Dollar Manโ€ Ted DiBiase recently appeared on an episode of his podcast, โ€œEverybodyโ€™s Got a Pod.โ€ During this episode, he discussed a variety of topics, including his belief that his gimmick could still be successful in todayโ€™s wrestling.

DiBiase said, โ€œI mean, hereโ€™s the thing. The one thing that everybody hates is someone who, by virtue of their wealth, bullies people. And that was the whole essence of The Million Dollar Man character. Iโ€™m this aloof guy, and Iโ€™m throwing my money around. Itโ€™s kind of like, โ€˜Hey, peon, who are you?โ€™ All that stuff, everybody hates that. I donโ€™t care if itโ€™s better now, if you had a character that was like that, I think it could be a big deal.โ€

On traveling as the Million Dollar Man:

โ€œNo, as the Million Dollar Man โ€” the performer โ€” it was always first classโ€ฆ When I was wrestling. When I left and came back, I came back as a manager. So now I might be managing some good guys, but no [it wasnโ€™t automatically first class then]. But by that time, I could upgrade myself to first class.โ€
