AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has confirmed that she is in a relationship with fellow AEW star The Beast Mortos, following growing fan speculation fueled by recent social media posts.
TMZ Sports reached out to Moné after Mortos shared a romantic photo of the couple with the caption, “en tus brazos encuentro paz,” which translates to “In your arms I find peace.” The caption sparked buzz across the wrestling world, with fans eager to know whether the pair were more than just colleagues.
Moné confirmed the news, telling TMZ: “It’s a real beauty and the beast situation,” a nod to their contrasting in-ring personas and her playful embrace of the dynamic.
While the exact length of their relationship remains unclear, this marks Moné’s first public relationship since her divorce from Sarath Ton (aka Mikaze), whom she was married to for eight years. Moné revealed in a candid video posted in August 2024 that the pair had been separated for some time, and emphasized that there were “no hard feelings” between them.
Both Moné and Mortos are currently enjoying high-profile success in AEW. Moné is not only the reigning TBS Champion, but also holds the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship and the EWA Women’s Championship. She is also slated to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In: Texas next month.
Mortos, meanwhile, has developed a strong presence on AEW Collision and is regarded as one of the most technically gifted performers on the roster. Outside of the ring, Mortos has one of the most unique résumés in wrestling—he is a former veterinarian and nurse, and is reportedly four months away from becoming a licensed lawyer.
Congratulations to Moné and Mortos on going public with their relationship. Stay tuned to PWMania.com for all the latest updates on the AEW power couple and their upcoming championship bouts.
