WWE Hall of Famer and legendary announcer Jim Ross doesn’t believe we’ve seen the last of Vince McMahon in the wrestling business.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross addressed speculation surrounding McMahon’s next move. The conversation stemmed from recent reports that the former WWE Chairman had shown interest in acquiring Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, and rumors of a potential return to promoting.
Ross didn’t hold back, stating:
“He can be his own worst enemy. He’s very hard-headed, very stubborn. He’s also still very brilliant.”
The AEW commentator emphasized that McMahon’s identity is too deeply tied to pro wrestling for him to walk away forever.
“I just don’t think we’ve heard the last of him in the pro wrestling space,” Ross said. “I don’t know where it’s headed. I don’t have any inside information, but I just think that he hasn’t sung his last song.”
Ross noted McMahon’s lasting impact on the industry and predicted another comeback—however that may look.
“He’s still got it, quite frankly. It’s in his blood, Conrad, it’s what he built. He’s the godfather of that whole genre. So why wouldn’t one assume that he’s going to make another foray into that world?”
While McMahon officially stepped down from WWE amid legal and public controversy, Ross’ comments will surely reignite speculation about what the future holds for one of wrestling’s most polarizing figures.
