AEW Dynamite Results – April 22, 2026

AEW Dynamite
AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite is live from the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, OR. at 8/7c on TBS and HBO Max.

A detailed video package looking back at Darby Allin upsetting MJF last week to become the AEW World Championship is shown.

MJF Is Pissed, Gets Confronted By Kevin Knight

Live inside the arena, MJF’s theme hits. He storms out and he’s pissed. He demands his music be cut off. He calls what happened last week the “Seattle Screwjob.” He points out that he wasn’t ready after an all out war with Kenny Omega at Dynasty, before calling the fans dumb for thinking Darby could beat him at 100 percent. He then hypes himself as the man who made sure Hangman Page could never challenge for the title again.

MJF boasts being the man who “kicked out of the One-Winged Angel like it was nothing” before telling Darby he doesn’t care about his title match against the Psycho Killer. If Darby has an ounce of dignity he’ll give MJF a rematch.

Instead of Darby, however, Kevin Knight, the new TNT Champion smirking at the former World Champion as he heads to the ring. He calls MJF whiny and a little b*tch. Fans chant little b*tch. Kevin says the Jet has arrived in Portland, and he is too fly. Before MJF gets to hating, he should ask himself, don’t the new champ look clean with the title around his waist?

When you’re a fighting champion you’re willing to put the title on the line. MJF talks about being screwed, but Kevin had him pinned for what seemed like an eternity just weeks ago. If anyone should talk about being cheated, Kevin should be “Two Belts Jet” by now. MJF addresses some “facts” that Knight laid out, before stating that he beat Kevin with a Heatseeker for an “easy dub.”

If anyone should be World Champion, it should be MJF and MJF alone. He respects the new hardware though, telling the crowd to give it up for the new TNT Champion. He says the title fits him like a glove, as he seems the TNT Championship type, someone with a ceiling, a good hand, etc etc. He then claims The Jet is not AEW World Championship material. MJF says he wants the TNT title. Knight says they can do it tonight. MJF says next week.

Backstage With Chris Jericho & The Demand

Backstage, we see Renee Paquette with Chris Jericho and The Demand. We find out there will be a trios bout with them. Jericho has yet to reveal his tag partners as Ricochet talks about him being the man who got his ass beat by Ricochet. Jericho informs him that he went and got that phrase trademarked.

From there, he proceeds to show off a t-shirt with the phrase, mocking Ricochet some more as he tells The Demand that he doesn’t have to find two guys that like him to face the trio, just two people that don’t like Ricochet. He taunts Ricochet for being bald and walks off.

Brody King vs. Lio Rush

We head back inside the arena and down to the ring for our opening contest. Brody King makes his way out, which of course means the “F**k ICE” chants aren’t far behind. Lio Rush comes out next with his whack job character. King charges toward him. Rush gets to his feet to square up with the big man, taking a bite out of his hand, and this just riles Brody up as he sends the Blackheart out of the ring.

King sets Lio up on a chair before charging toward him, but Rush gets out of the way just in time, forcing Brody to collide with the barricade instead! Lio stays on the attack. On that note, we shift gears and head into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.

When the show returns, we see King starts to get back into it as he goes for a clothesline on Rush, but he is still favoring the arm after what happened earlier. This allows Lio to drop the arm onto the top rope, followed by a jawbreaker hanging up the big man. He remarks something about “getting real strong” before going for a Death Valley Driver on the apron, but King fights him off before going for a Ganso Bomb.

Rush shoves him off the apon, leaping around in the ring for a dive on Brody. Rush slides back into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle as King slides back in as well, only to be taken down by the Blackheart for a nearfall. King gets back into it, dropping Rush down hard and follows with a Ganso Bomb for the win.

Winner: Brody King

Brody King Has Something To Say

King doesn’t celebrate for long, getting a mic to say that he’s keeping an eye on the world title match and looking for his shot regardless of who comes out as champion. He also tells Darby that he’s proud of him, but not proud enough not to bring the violence if he’s the one to face.

Backstage, we hear from Tommaso Ciampa ahead of the main event. He addresses all the things people have told him he is not, saying he’s not big enough or strong enough or “championship material” before stating what he is.

He wraps up by saying we’ve never seen anyone more prepared that Ciampa is tonight, and to ask Darby if he wants this more than Ciampa needs it. He walks off, and we go to a commercial break.

Backstage With Adam Copeland

Backstage we hear from Adam Copeland, who offers a case as to why he and Cage deserve one last shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. He makes the challenge for a New York Street Fight at Double Or Nothing, offering an additional stipulation: if FTR beat them, Cope and Cage will retire as a team. He thinks the champs will consider that a good offer.

Mina Shirakawa vs. Hikaru Shida

From there, we head back to ringside, where Hikaru Shida makes her entrance for our next match. We get an inset promo from Shida about showcasing the Japanese style against Mina Shirakawa, who makes her way out to get this match underway.

Mina gets a side headlock on Shida, who hits the ropes to break free. Mina blocks an arm drag by Hikaru, sending her to the ropes for some forearms…until Shida grabs her by the hair to send Mina to the mat. Mina follows in kind before they reach an impasse with a double dropkick and a staredown.

Shirakawa mocks Shida with a pose before dodging a kick, bringing the former Women’s World Champion to the corner before taking her to the mat with a sling blade. She lands some mounted punches and goes for a cover, but Shida counters for a nearfall.

Mina sends her to the ropes, but takes a clothesline by Hikaru as we go to ad break. When the show returns, Mina starts to build up momentum as she takes Shida down before landing a torneo for a two count. She continues to go to work on Shida, focusing on the leg before going for a figure four leg lock.

Shida fights it off but takes a few shots to the knee before heading out of the ring. Mina follows her out, targeting the leg for more damage…only to be caught with a head-scissors sending her into the ring steps. She hoists Mina up onto the apron, with Shirakawa trying to fight out before being dropped with a Meteora onto the hardest part of the ring.

She brings Mina back into the ring, favoring her knee before going up top for another Meteora followed by a big kick…but it’s only good for two! Mina starts fighting back, sending Shida away before they trade offense. Shida is rattled enough for a missile dropkick by Mina, who goes up for a sling blade. Mina with the cover for a nearfall, and she immediately transitions into a figure four leg lock.

Shida rolls over to the ropes, forcing a break. Mina gets into it with the ref, which allows Shida a chance to go for the kendo stick. Mina catches her and pulls it away, only to deal with Statlander on the apron…and with the ref distracted checking on Shida, Stat lands a kendo shot on Mina before Shida takes her down with the Falcon Arrow for the win.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

Big Match Set For AEW Collision

After a Kazuchika Okada video package and commercial break, we return to footage of The Dogs and The Young Bucks from Spring BreakThru. It is announced that this Saturday on AEW Collision, the Bucks and the Rascalz will team-up to face the Death Riders and the Dogs.

Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis

We head to the ring for our next match. After the ring entrances, we get ready for singles action. Davis storms to the ring ready to fight. The bell rings, and Ospreay runs into him and falls down. Davis rams into Ospreay, sending him to the floor. Davis follows him out and rams him into the barricade.

Davis returns Ospreay to the ring and connects with a scoop slam, but he takes WAY too long listening to the fans, and he misses his back splash. Ospreay dropkicks Davis from the ring, but he can’t fly, as Davis pulls him out of the ring. Ospreay jumps over the ring steps and kicks them into the gut of Davis.

Ospreay off the ring steps and he hits a Rana to Davis. We see a flying forearm for a two. Ospreay looking to piledrive Davis, but he can’t, so Ospreay with Kawada kicks. Davis with a big boot to Ospreay and a lariat sends Will to the floor. Davis looks around before he leaves the ring and goes after Ospreay.

He knees Will in the gut, and he takes him up the ramp and to the side of the stage. Davis looking powerbomb, but Ospreay escapes and lands on the ramp. Will backs up and he takes off and wipes out Davis on the floor. We head into mid match commercial break as the action continues.

When the show returns, we see Ospreay has a standing sleeper on Davis. Mark rams him into the corner, stops Will from spring-boarding, and cranks his neck over the top rope. Davis hits a big lariat and goes for the pin, but Will kicks out at two. Piledriver attempt, but Will escapes, off the wall, and he hits Davis with an enziguri. Ospreay hits a big boot in the corner, to the top he goes, and he hits a punch from the top rope.

Davis kicks out at two. Ospreay signals Hidden Blade, but Davis blocks it. Ospreay with a kick to the gut, but Davis grabs Ospreay and sits him on the top rope. He grabs Will by the hair, Will kicks him away, but Davis blasts Will with a lariat. Holy crap! The pin, but Ospreay kicks out at two. Davis celebrates his near-fall and picks up Ospreay.

Will out the back door, Ospreay with the hook kick, but Davis hits a boot. Davis runs into a Spanish Fly from Ospreay, but Mark kicks out at two. Both men square up in the middle of the ring, Ospreay with strikes, but Davis smacks him with one. Pump kick from Ospreay, Davis catches Ospreay on the Oscutter attempt with a Backdrop Driver.

Davis does it twice. Ospreay lands on the apron, so Davis hits a third Driver to bring Will back into the ring. The pin gets him another two. Davis lines up Ospreay and he hits a leaping enziguri. Davis off the ropes, but Ospreay with the Hidden Blade. The cover, but Davis kicks out.

Ospreay looks for a Hidden Blade proper, but Davis folds up Ospreay with a big lariat. Davis hits the Piledriver! The pin, but Will is too close to the ropes, and he gets his foot on the ropes. Not good ring awareness from Davis there. Don Callis argues with Paul Turner. Ospreay tries to get feeling back in his shoulder, and Davis takes Ospreay out to the apron. A piledriver on the apron connects. Doctor Sampson stops the bout.

Davis grabs Ospreay from the outside and he looks to deliver another piledriver. But Callis runs away, and we see Marina Shafir on the apron. The rest of the Death Riders, except PAC, are here. Davis thinks better of things and lays Ospreay on the mat. The Death Riders pick up Ospreay and they carry him through the crowd. We head to a break.

Winner via doctor stoppage: Mark Davis

Backstage With Alex Windsor

We shoot backstage, where Alex Windsor addresses dealing with the Triangle of Madness, with CMLL champion Persephone offering to help the cause.

Samoa Joe vs. Cody Chhun

Back inside the arena, Samoa Joe heads to the ring as we see Cody Chhun already there to get this match underway. Joe immediately goes to work on Cody, sending him to the corner for a muscle buster.

Instead, Cody goes after his eye to fight back. He goes for a cross body on Joe…who says absolutely not as he walks away. He sends Chhun back to the corner, connecting with a Muscle Buster for the win.

Joe celebrates briefly before heading back up the ramp, joining HOOK who is giving a round of applause for his return. With that we cut to a video package highlighting Darby Allin ahead of our main event for the AEW World Championship.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Backstage With Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate

Now we shoot backstage again, where we learn who Jericho has recruited to team with him against The Demand. The Hurt Syndicate comes out of his locker room. MVP says “it’s never personal, it’s just business.”

Darby Allin Confronted By MJF

Back to ringside we go, as Darby Allin, the brand new AEW World Champion, makes his way out to a big pop from the crowd. He enters the ring, soaking in the adulation of the crowd before talking about Portland being where his first match took place. He admits that this could all come to an end as quickly as Tommaso comes out later tonight, before talking about the people he’s made proud before this fifteen minute ride could end.

Before he can say anything else, he is interrupted by MJF, who tells Darby he doesn’t deserve sh*t. He demands Allin give him back “his” title right now, but it’s denied. He demands a rematch right now, and Darby denies that as well before saying he’s not facing MJF until he can put something on the line, because unlike MJF, everyone else in the back deserves a shot at the title.

AEW World Championship
Darby Allin (c) vs. Tommaso Ciampa

It’s main event time!

From there, Darby Allin says he will put his body on the line every week, and it starts with Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa makes his entrance, only to be confronted by MJF on the ramp. He breaks the tension with a kiss on the cheek before heading to the ring, and we get introductions for both men before this high stakes title tilt gets officially off-and-running.

“The Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa makes his way out, stopping to give MJF a smooch as they pass by going opposite directions. He enters the ring, where Allin is waiting for him. The two go at it right from the start, trading offense from the corner before Darby looks for an early Coffin Drop.

Ciampa rolls out of the ring, but is caught with a Coffin Drop to the floor by the champion instead! Tommaso manages to get back into the ring, but Darby fends off an attack on the apron before the challenger sends him crashing into the announce table and into the barricade.

On that note, the show shifts gears and heads into a mid-match commercial break as the action in the world championship contest continues. When the show returns, we see Ciampa still in control. He stomps at Darby under the apron before catapulting him into the undercarriage. He sends the champ back into barricade, but Darby dodges a running boot before climbing up top.

He steps onto the ring post itself before leaping for an elbow to send the challenger through the timekeeper table. Darby makes it back to the ring as the ref begins the count. Ciampa is slowly moving toward the ring, but the champ doesn’t let up as he leaps out for a dive sending him back down.

The fight makes its way back to the ring as Ciampa manages to cut off Darby coming back in. He sends the champ to the corner, who uses the turnbuckle to drive Tommaso into the canvas. Ciampa rolls out of range from a Coffin Drop, and cuts him off on the opposite corner as well.

He lays into Darby with a set of chops before putting him onto his shoulders…sending Darby to the floor below with a Psycho Driller. The ref is shouting to find out what Ciampa’s problem as, and both men are struggling to get up.

With that in mind, the show heads into another mid-match commercial break as the title tilt continues. The two are trading shots until Ciampa sends Darby to the corner for some more chops. Darby dodges a running kick but is launched into the corner, only to stop himself short, dropping onto the challenger with a double foot stomp to the chest for a nearfall.

They go back at it with strikes, and Darby hits the ropes for speed only to be sent flying to the canvas before Ciampa lands a running knee. Darby manages to fight back, hitting the ropes again as he nails the challenger with a Code Red for a close two count. Darby goes up top for a Coffin Drop, but lands in a rear naked choke by Ciampa! Darby readjusts and gets a cover for two.

He charges at Ciampa, who sends him into the exposed turnbuckle before landing a running knee…but this is only good for a two! He picks up the champ and lands Project Ciampa, followed by another running knee, but the champ will not give up, as he kicks out just in time.

Ciampa is beside himself as the fans chant “Fight Forever.” Ciampa looks to apply the Scorpion Deathlock, but Allin kicks him away and takes him down to the mat. Allin locks it in. Ciampa looks to make the ropes, but Allin pulls him back to the middle of the ring and cranked back on it. Ciampa taps out. Allin retains.

Winner and STILL AEW World Champion: Darby Allin

Darby Allin’s Next Title Defense Will Be …

Afterwards, Allin wants to shake Ciampa’s hand. Ciampa shakes his hand and bows to Allin. Ciampa puts the title on the shoulder of Allin. Brody King arrives. King says that he is proud of Allin, and he just spoke to Tony Khan, and next week, it will be Brody and Darby for the World Title on AEW Dynamite. The two shake hands. That’s how things wraps up. Thanks for joining us!
