During the latest edition of the Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan’s question regarding former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker, who has not appeared on AEW programming since 2024.
Sapp mentioned that he hasn’t heard anything about Baker being sidelined due to an injury. However, he did note that her name was mentioned in connection with the upcoming tribute show for Rebel. Beyond that, Sapp has not received any further updates about Baker. It is expected that Baker’s current AEW contract will run at least until the fall of 2026, as she signed a new five-year contract with AEW in 2021. There is also a possibility that AEW could extend her contract due to the time she has missed because of injuries.
In real life, Baker’s friend and long-time tag team partner, Rebel, is currently battling ALS. Recently, Baker and Rebel reunited to produce a new edition of their classic Waiting Room video. The AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite special is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 9th, at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia. As of now, the company has not officially announced Baker for the event.
