AEW President and CEO Tony Khan participated in a live stream where he discussed various topics.

One of the highlights was his mention of Andy “The Butcher” Williams, who has been in talks with his team about how he could contribute to the company in a non-wrestling capacity. Khan expressed his interest in having The Butcher take on a role as a backstage personality within AEW.

Khan said, “In recent weeks, Andy had been in conversations with AEW about things outside of the ring. Andy passed away as a very young man at 48 years old. In recent weeks, he had said, ‘I don’t think I’m gonna be able to wrestle forever.’ Andy had ideas for AEW promotions and how he could contribute backstage. Andy just had a few weeks ago, in August, Andy had meetings with my staff that I set up. I was interested in Andy continuing here out of the ring.”

Williams recently passed away at the age of 48 after collapsing at an indie event. AEW held a special episode of Collision on Saturday to honor the life and career of The Butcher.
