WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio has revealed that he has several championship opportunities in mind following his recent loss of the AAA Mega Championship, including potential challenges against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.
Mysterio lost the AAA Mega Championship to El Grande Americano at TripleMania, leaving the Judgment Day member without a title. However, the former champion is already considering his next move, with his sights potentially set on several championships across WWE.
During a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Mysterio discussed his future ambitions and identified World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns as someone he would be interested in facing. “There’s a lot of things I’d like to get done,” Mysterio said. “I got some beef with [world heavyweight champion] Roman [Reigns] kind of. He tried to throw me out of the ring and end my career one time.”
Mysterio also expressed interest in pursuing Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn, referencing the history between Zayn, Kevin Owens and The Judgment Day. “Sami Zayn, on the other hand, we’ve got a lot of history with Sami and Kevin [Owens] in The Judgment Day, so maybe there’s something over there with the WWE title on the line.”
While a world championship opportunity remains one possibility, Mysterio made it clear that he is also interested in reclaiming a title he previously held. “Maybe I want my IC title back,” he stated, referring to the Intercontinental Championship.
Another option Mysterio discussed was entering WWE’s tag team division alongside fellow Judgment Day member JD McDonagh.
The potential pairing would give Mysterio an opportunity to pursue additional championship success while helping McDonagh capture gold. “Maybe I wanna go for the tag titles with JD, get him some gold too. Who knows?”
Despite identifying several possible directions, Mysterio emphasized that he is not rushing into a particular championship pursuit. “There’s a lot of things I’d like to get done, but we’re taking it one day at a time.”
Mysterio’s comments suggest that he remains open to both singles and tag team opportunities as he looks to regain championship gold following his AAA Mega Championship loss.
For now, WWE has not announced a specific title program involving Mysterio, Reigns, Zayn or a potential tag team partnership with McDonagh.
