Former WWE Superstar Gurv Sihra, best known to fans as Sunil Singh of The Bollywood Boyz, has shared an encouraging update on his recovery after suffering a collapsed lung during a wrestling match in September.
Sihra sustained the injury on September 19 while teaming with his brother Harv Sihra at a Pure Power Wrestling event in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
Despite experiencing breathing difficulties during the match, Sihra managed to continue competing and finish the contest. However, his condition deteriorated backstage, where he struggled to breathe and was unable to get back to his feet. The situation prompted a trip to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed and treated him for a collapsed lung.
In a new social media update, Sihra revealed that his latest X-rays have shown significant improvement, with his lungs returning to normal. “The road to recovery continues,” Sihra wrote. “X-Rays show my lungs are back to normal & there is very little air bubbles left in my chest-cavity from the collapsed lung.”
Although the results were encouraging, Sihra explained that he has not yet received clearance to travel by airplane.
Nevertheless, he expressed optimism that the remaining restrictions could be lifted soon. “I still can’t fly at the moment, however, I should be cleared soon. Thank you all for your continued love & support.”
The injury occurred during a successful championship match for The Bollywood Boyz, who defeated Shaun Martens and Sydney Steele to capture the Pure Power Wrestling Tag Team Championships.
Sihra and his brother are best remembered for their time in WWE, where they competed as Sunil and Samir Singh.
The duo became particularly recognizable for their association with Jinder Mahal during his reign as WWE Champion. The brothers initially appeared in WWE as participants in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic before going on to compete across NXT, 205 Live and the main roster.
Following their WWE releases in 2021, they continued working together on the independent wrestling circuit.
As previously reported by PWMania.com, Sihra had been monitoring his recovery through medical examinations and X-rays after the injury. While he has not announced a return date or confirmed that he has been medically cleared to wrestle, his latest update indicates that he is making encouraging progress.
For now, Sihra remains focused on completing his recovery before resuming his regular travel and wrestling commitments.
