AEW has officially announced plans to begin 2027 with a special two-night edition of New Year’s Smash, featuring live broadcasts of Dynamite and Collision from Atlanta, Georgia.

The company confirmed on Friday that AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash will take place on Friday, January 1, 2027, followed by AEW Collision: New Year’s Smash on Saturday, January 2.

Both events will be held at Gateway Arena in Atlanta, with Dynamite temporarily moving from its traditional Wednesday night time slot to Friday for the special occasion.

AEW promoted the announcement on social media, highlighting the opportunity for fans to attend two consecutive nights of live wrestling to open the new year. “Atlanta, are you ready? AEW is ringing in 2027 with two massive nights of LIVE action from the Gateway Arena,” the company wrote.

Alongside the announcement, AEW confirmed ticket sale details for the two-night event.

Early access for VIP and premium seating will begin on Tuesday, October 27, at 10 a.m. ET, with additional presale opportunities scheduled to begin Wednesday, October 28.

Tickets will become available to the general public on Friday, October 30, at 10 a.m. ET.

Fans interested in accessing presale opportunities can register as AEW Insiders through AEWTix.com.

The scheduling adjustment means Dynamite will air on New Year’s Day rather than its usual Wednesday evening, while Collision will follow the next night as part of the two-show celebration.

As of this writing, AEW has not announced any matches or confirmed specific talent appearances for either New Year’s Smash event.

Further details regarding the lineups are expected to be revealed as the company prepares for its first live events of 2027.
