WWE previously announced that their upcoming 2024 WWE Draft will take place on the April 26th episode of Smackdown and will conclude on the April 29th episode of RAW.
According to Fightful Select, sources close to NXT have indicated that the potential of main roster talents coming to the brand as part of the draft is highly possible. The Final Testament, Ivar, and Natalya appearing on last week’s WWE NXT set the stage for other main roster stars to potentially be drafted to the black and gold brand as WWE is renewing their focus on making NXT a viable third brand and not just a developmental brand.
The next two weeks of NXT programming will focus on the draft, which will lead into NXT Spring Breakin’.
In terms of NXT talents potentially being drafted to RAW or SmackDown, several starts have reportedly been told by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels that he isn’t yet certain who will be drafted from the brand although Carmelo Hayes and NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov are both said to be “a lock.”
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez’s move to the main roster is reportedly uncertain as well, while The D’Angelo Family and Baron Corbin have both been talked about as potential draftees.
WWE has been planning to hold their annual draft the week of the NFL Draft in order to capitalize on the media focus.
