As PWMania.com previously reported, Mercedes Moné made her debut with All Elite Wrestling on this past Wednesday night’s Big Business episode of Dynamite. Moments later, it was announced that she had signed with the company and is now “All Elite.”
According to Fightful Select, Moné has been with AEW for over two months now, and her deal with the company was essentially agreed to back in December when she registered a number of trademarks for her name.
The report also states that NJPW expects to be factored into the deal and was under the belief as of January that they would be able to continue working with Moné. A number of NJPW sources even hoped that the company could pick up right where they left off with Moné when she was injured back in May, but that AEW would be the first priority.
The sources also mentioned that Moné’s injury required her to undergo a couple of surgeries. At the time, she made it perfectly clear she wasn’t ready to return to in-ring action as she was still negotiating other potential deals.
There has been no confirmation as to how long Moné’s AEW deal is for, but it is believed to be a multi-year contract.
