If WWE chooses to move forward with an opponent that they have previously discussed for LA Knight, he might still be in store for a memorable match at WWE’s biggest event, WrestleMania 40, in Philadelphia this April.
Knight had a breakout year in 2023, losing to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. He also competed in a fatal four-way match with Reigns, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble last month.
Knight is set to face Drew McIntyre on SmackDown next Friday. Knight will also work the Elimination Chamber match to determine Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship challenger at WrestleMania 40, which will also feature Orton, McIntyre, Kevin Owens, US Champion Logan Paul, and Bobby Lashley.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select stated in a Q&A that Knight vs. Paul was discussed. However, as the WrestleMania card has changed, it is unclear whether this is still the direction.
“That was the plan. I don’t still know if it is the plan, but that was discussed at one point.”
