CM Punk isn’t holding back his admiration for Liv Morgan, naming her his personal WWE MVP of 2025 — even as the popular Superstar faces a major setback.
During a live taping of Kevin Hart’s “Cold As Balls” at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Punk gave Morgan high praise for her remarkable growth and breakout year, reflecting on the impact she’s made in WWE before a recent injury temporarily sidelined her.
“Shoutout to Liv Morgan, who recently got injured — she was like my MVP for the year,” Punk said. “I look at people like Liv who probably started right after I left, around 2014, and just from the time I’ve been back and around her, seeing her development this past year — she’s broken out of her shell, turned into this little worker. It kinda warms my heart.”
Punk, who returned to WWE in late 2023, expressed disappointment over Morgan’s current injury but also offered perspective on the physical toll of the business:
“It’s disappointing she got injured, but it’s part of the process. Nobody gets out alive, is what I like to say. When you do this, it’s just part of the job.”

Morgan’s injury — a dislocated shoulder sustained during a match with Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw — is expected to require surgery and could keep her out for the remainder of 2025. The setback is especially unfortunate given the year she’s had.
In the last 12 months, Morgan has become one of WWE’s most consistently featured Superstars. She captured both the WWE Women’s World Championship and the Women’s Tag Team Titles, while playing pivotal roles in storylines involving Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, and more recently, being slotted for summer programs with Roxanne Perez, IYO SKY, and Nikki Bella.
Morgan’s absence is already being felt creatively, with WWE reportedly adjusting several storyline plans in her wake. Still, with CM Punk’s endorsement and a strong 2025 run already in the books, Liv Morgan’s star power remains undeniable — and her return will be one of the most anticipated comebacks of the year.
