The Rock faced backlash for replacing Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, where he is expected to face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at the event. Since last week’s SmackDown, Rhodes has had several different Twitter hashtags.

WWE is expected to announce Rock vs. Reigns at this Thursday’s WrestleMania Kickoff event. Things have gotten so bad that The Rock’s daughter, NXT General Manager Ava, revealed on social media that she has received death threats from some fans as a result of the situation.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE went from 7,600 tickets sold for RAW last Friday to 10,000 tickets sold by Monday night.

“I don’t know. It doesn’t feel like there’s certainly an audience that hates it. But, you know, there was 10,000 people [at Raw], you know, and here’s the other thing, too, is like, whatever they’re doing, it’s sure working. Because, like tonight’s show, just a couple of days ago, they had, like, 7600 tickets out. There are over 10,000 people there tonight. I mean, you don’t move that many tickets from Friday to Monday, ever. So whatever it is, people are buying this thing. They are paying to see it. You know, I think that there’s going to be a ton of people at T-Mobile [Arena] on Thursday.”
