While appearing on the This Is Important podcast, actor and comedian Adam DeVine shared his wild experience attending the 2025 AEW Revolution pay-per-viewโand he didnโt hold back on the praise or the chaos.
โI didnโt know what an insane event. Those guys throw on a real banger,โ DeVine said. โIt feels just as insaneโin fact, I liked it more than the WWE events. Itโs like the WCW in the late โ90s. Itโs someone trying to go up against the WWE. It was way more raw.โ
DeVine was blown away by the intensity of the show, especially a brutal cage match that left a lasting impression.
โThere was this cage match. People were bleeding all over the place. Real blood. Iโm sitting ringside. Blood is back. It was crazy. They were pouring thumbtacks all over the ring. From the very top of the cage, they were backflipping guys into the thumbtacks. Insane.โ
He went on to describe the aftermath, revealing just how real the pain was:
โThen you go to the back, they were real thumbtacks. He was still picking them out of himself. โOne is stuck in my heel. I canโt get it out.โโ
What surprised DeVine the most was how quickly he became hooked on the action:
โI didnโt think I would have a thirst for it, but now I do. It was awesome. It was crazy.โ
DeVine also gave a shoutout to the Toni Storm vs. Mariah May match, calling it a โbloodbath,โ and marveled at how intense the menโs cage match wasโeven down to the use of weapons:
โThe men in the cage match were attacking each other with a screwdriver. Iโm like, โHow do you fake that? Oh, itโs rubber.โ Then they stick it in the turnbuckle and it just sticks into it. It was crazy. It was really fun.โ
He ended his story by praising AEW President Tony Khan, who hosted DeVine in his Super Bowl box and later took him out to party:
โTony Khan, the guy who owns itโฆ Heโs this totally nice guy who owns AEW. It was fun. It was a blast.โ
Clearly, AEW Revolution 2025 made a lasting impression on DeVineโboth for its hardcore action and the welcoming atmosphere behind the scenes.
