NXT standout Lola Vice is earning praise not only for her in-ring growth but for her personal journey as well. In a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, the former MMA fighter got candid about the emotional and physical challenges she faced before signing with WWE, including a serious eating disorder developed during her time in combat sports.
When asked by co-host Bully Ray what had changed the most in her life over the past three years, Vice didn’t hesitate to reflect on how joining WWE provided a much-needed turning point.
“I think I’ve matured a lot being here in WWE,” Vice said. “I grew up fighting my whole life, and this is the first time I’m genuinely happy. I can completely be myself, and I truly love what I do now.”
Vice clarified that while there were moments of happiness in her past, her lifestyle lacked a healthy balance. “I just didn’t have balance. Being in WWE taught me that,” she added.
One of the biggest hurdles she revealed was a long-standing battle with an eating disorder, stemming from years of cutting weight in the MMA world. “I had to do a lot of work on myself,” she said. “Fighting my whole life, I went through challenges. One of the biggest was having an eating disorder. But when I got to WWE, that changed. I was able to better my health—both physically and mentally.”
Vice emphasized that this transformation has brought her a deeper level of peace and clarity. “This year, more than anything, I’ve found peace and balance. I’m happy every day, confident in myself, and I believe in myself more than ever,” she said.
She also highlighted the importance of mental health in both her personal life and professional performance. “Three years ago, I was a completely different person. I didn’t think the same way,” Vice reflected. “Now I realize—if my mental health isn’t in the right place, I can’t perform to the best of my ability.”
Vice has continued to shine in NXT, recently scoring a tag team victory at Worlds Collide and competing in a hard-fought singles match against TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace on the June 17th episode of NXT.
With her renewed mindset and ever-growing presence in the women’s division, Lola Vice appears poised for a breakout year on the black-and-gold brand.
