Matt Hardy Explains Why He Likes Working For Tony Khan In AEW

Matt Hardy likes working for Tony Khan.

During a recent interview with the Daily Mail out of the U.K., the pro wrestling veteran described Tony Khan as a boss and how it is working for him in AEW.

Featured below are some of the highlights.

On what itโ€™s like working with AEW President Tony Khan in the promotion after joining them in 2020: โ€œHe is an amazing human being overall. I love working with him. Heโ€™s like the most fair boss, and he very much values us talent[s] as human beings. Thereโ€™s sometimes where you can work for people, and you know you hear this about WWE a lot, sometimes you just feel like youโ€™re a cog in a machine. And they use you as long as youโ€™re fully functioning and the machine continues to run. Whenever youโ€™re taking out they put another cog in.โ€

On how unlike other promoters, Khan is more than willing to give his employees time off for family time: “With Tony, if Iโ€™m not on [the] shows, if we have a pay-per-view week and I have something on โ€˜Dynamite,โ€™ and thereโ€™s a lot Friday on โ€˜Rampage.โ€™ If Iโ€™m not on the pay-per-view, heโ€™ll just say, โ€˜Yeah, go ahead, go home be with your kids, be with your family.โ€™ Thatโ€™s very important to him. He really considers his employees as human beings, and itโ€™s very important to him that they get to spend as much time with their family, and they actually get to have their own lives outside of AEW.โ€

On praising Khan for letting talent do signings and comic cons: โ€œAlso, just the way he allows guys to do like signings, cons, and whatnot. You know, autograph appearances, sometimes appearances, even in indie shows, whatever may be. And heโ€™s very generous and very giving and very fair. He just wants whatโ€™s best for the human being and the talent.โ€
