Mick Foley Believes Social Media Would Have Undermined His Hell In A Cell Legacy

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley recently appeared on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel, where he discussed various topics. One key point he made was his belief that if social media had existed in 1998, during his legendary Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at the King of the Ring event, it would have overshadowed the match’s legacy.

Foley said, โ€œNo one saw this one coming, right? Nobody saw it coming. I think for a few years after this, there was a sense that people were trying to top this, but you could tell that theyโ€™re trying to top it. Whereas this was, not only was it completely unexpected, but it grew organically in fansโ€™ minds. There was no social media at that time. I think if it had been on social media, it would have been a big deal for three or four days and then been largely forgotten. So I was lucky that people talked about it.โ€
