O’Shea Jackson Jr. & TJ Jefferson React To R-Truth and Carlito WWE Releases

On the latest episode of the “No Contest Wrestling Podcast,” hosts O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson voiced their frustration and disbelief over WWE’s recent releases of R-Truth and Carlito, calling the moves “confusing,” “disappointing,” and likely the result of decisions made by TKO management, rather than Triple H and WWE creative.

Jackson Jr. revealed he confirmed R-Truth’s release via text, following a wave of online speculation that the news might be part of a storyline. “It was shocking to say the least,” Jackson said. “R-Truth just wrestled Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event… we all thought it was a setup for some hilarious segments during Cena’s final run. Now, it just feels like a waste.”

Jefferson echoed that sentiment, praising R-Truth’s legacy:

“R-Truth is, in my opinion, one of the absolute greatest sports entertainers of all time. He’s universally loved. His shirt was top-selling, and he’s still killing it. What more do you gotta do?”

The duo questioned the timing and lack of a proper on-screen send-off, especially with Truth having just appeared in a Bloodline segment on Raw. “It makes me feel like it’s a call from upstairs,” Jackson said. “Triple H would’ve given him a real storyline exit.”

They also addressed Carlito’s quiet exit, who had been regularly featured with The Judgment Day. Jackson referenced Carlito’s cryptic social media posts and a tongue-in-cheek comment about being asked to “pay back” money. While they recognized the joke, the hosts couldn’t shake the feeling that Carlito’s departure was abrupt and creatively unplanned.

“You’re featured every Monday in one of WWE’s biggest factions,” Jefferson said. “It just feels weird… like someone hit a reset button without watching the show.”

Both hosts expressed concern about the job security of veteran talent, especially after multiple waves of releases in 2025.
