Ric Flair Injured, Latest News on His Opponent – A WWE Superstar?

The “final opponent” for WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair will be announced tonight.

Flair hinted on Twitter that his final match, which is scheduled for the “Jim Crockett Promotions Presents: Ric Flair’s Last Match” occasion during the course of Starrcast V weekend, would put him against a WWE RAW Superstar.

“On July 31, I’m Coming After One Of Your Own. #WWERaw,” Flair wrote. “And Tonight At 6:05, The Entire World Will Find Out. #RicFlairsLastMatch.”

In episode 2 of the “Ric Flair’s Last Match” documentary series, which debuts on FITE and ricflairslastmatch.com, the opponent is expected to be revealed.

The opponent Flair will be facing is yet unknown, although The Nature Boy is apparently struggling with a foot issue. While Flair is injured, it is not anticipated that it will prevent him from competing in his final match later this month, according to Wrestling Observer Radio.

This is the first time we’ve heard of a WWE Superstar being teased. There have been many rumors regarding prospective partners and opponents for Flair’s final match in Nashville during Starrcast V weekend. WWE recently brought back Ric Flair for their TV opener, and in early June, WWE announced a special Flair documentary.

Below, you can watch the first episode of the docuseries that was released last week as well as Flair’s tweet. Late last month, a press conference for the major one-night-only JCP event was held, but Flair’s match was not announced or even hinted at.

The “Jim Crockett Promotions Presents: Ric Flair’s Last Match” event will take place on Sunday, July 31 from the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN, during Starrcast V weekend.
